Thank you for enquiring about our accommodation at Résidence le Gentianes in the quiet village of Doussard, by beautiful Lac d'Annecy. Our individually designed apartment is one of only three in the building, featuring traditional alpine style including sloping ceilings and exposed beams.
We are only a few minutes from the shores of Lac d'Annecy and its spectacular scenery, swimming, water sports, cycling, walking and para-gliding. There are two 18-hole golf courses and a 9-hole course all within about 10 minutes drive; there's pony riding at several centres nearby, and Fôret d'Aventures is only about a 20 minute drive. (See links to some tourism web sites in the TRAVEL section). The Tour de France climbed Col de la Forclaz in 2004 and circled the lake in 2009.
Résidence les Gentianes is convenient for Annecy and the villages on both sides of the lake, and for the Winter Olympic centre at Albertville to the south-west. Several ski resorts are near enough to visit for the day, including nursery slopes at Montmin a few minutes away, Le Semnoz near Annecy, La Clusaz, Les Saisies, Crest-Voland, Megève and Courchevel. Chamonix and Mont Blanc are also reachable by motorway. (Annecy bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics).
Village amenities, all less than a 2-minute walk away, include a modern supermarket, baker, charcuterie, bank, tabac, Cafe/Bar/Brasserie Morgane and Restaurant Bistrot du Coin.
